In the wake of countless data breaches, and social media account hacks, ahem, Ariana Grande, we thought it was only fitting to dedicate this week’s advice to the integrity saving, 2FA. But was is 2FA you ask? Let us explain…
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
According to our trusted security partner, Duo Security, two-factor authentication strengthens access security by requiring two methods (also referred to as factors) to verify your identity. These factors can include something you know – like a username and password, plus something you have – like a smartphone app to approve authentication requests.
2FA directly protects against phishing, social engineering, and password brute-force attacks and secures your logins from attackers exploiting weak or stolen credentials. If you can recall, we discussed social engineering last week!
Enabling a 2FA solution is an easy and effective method to ensuring all points of access are protected.
