Job Description

Secure Sense is currently looking for a IT Administrator with the ability to utilize commercial and internal tools related to the corporate network, systems and other production/office programs.

Sounds great, so what’s the role exactly?

If you are someone that likes to work on administration activities including maintenance and support of: Operating systems, databases, network security, email / file sharing systems, cellular, telephony, office equipment, network and user software/hardware, as well as interacting with internal customers.

  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair/replace/upgrade corporate systems and all hardware (Endpoint PCs, Thin Clients, printers, scanners, etc.).
  • Follow internal security standards and best practices by administering user accounts, passwords and system permissions as well as ensuring acceptable use of anti-virus and other programs.
  • Performs periodically backups and ensure backups integrity.
  • Provides appropriate ongoing system training for users. Documents operating procedures, best practices and the management of software licensing requirements for PC and network systems.
  • Maintains an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
  • Other duties as required.

Aside from ninja skills, what other technical talents should I have?

  • Working Knowledge troubleshooting and management of Windows OS (server and desktop), *NIX.
  • Experience and/or training with patching tools i.e. Ivanti, SCCM, WSUS.
  • Experience with endpoint security programs.
  • Good understanding of Security Fundamentals.
  • Experience and/or training with security vendor appliances, enterprise networking equipment–especially with any of our vendor partners (see http://securesense.ca/partners)
  • MCSE certification (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or any *NIX certification is preferred.

Not technical, but I also should have:

  • College or University degree/diploma in Computer Sciences a relevant area of study
  • 2+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Multitasking skills
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job and to make informed, responsible decisions
  • Customer Service experience
